THE MISSION:-

This event has been designed and is aimed at Companies where their structure is departmental, divisional or, even, where there may be several offices or cost centres at different locations.

The Event Objectives. This event has been specifically planned with expressed principle objectives in mind. That is; to form the basis for a cohesive, integrated team that will encourage the delegates to focus on overall company objectives and values as a Whole Team effort, rather than on just their own team's targets.

The Theme. The theme of the entire event is to constantly remind the group that they are one unit, working to common company values and objectives, regardless of their individual skills, departments and functions within the group. The event is structured with this in mind; from forming teams for survival, communicating with the other teams, occasional regrouping and working together, to the points sharing of the more successful with the less successful teams so the whole group can earn the right to escape, and, finally, to break down any isolationist team barriers.

Format. The event is scheduled to take place over two distinct halves which are entirely different in format; but which are linked to provide a common purpose and goal, thus reflecting a real situation often found within company structures. There are also three phases to the event, each with it's own series of thought provoking challenges:

"Team Breakout"
"No Man's Land"
"The Final Escape"

The Concept. The group are about to embark on their mission. Unfortunately, due to adverse weather, they have become lost and dropped into the wrong area behind enemy lines. The group decides to split into three smaller teams to give the best chance of survival and allow at least one team, hopefully more, to escape and complete The Mission. The teams wish each other good luck and hope to reunite on the other side. The objective, of course, is for all the teams to effect an escape.

The first part of the event takes place in the morning; "Team Breakout". This involves some fairly serious team challenges and orienteering in the grounds and woodlands of your venue estate. Slick teamwork, resourcefulness, communication, leadership and team planning at all stages will be required; but the challenges will still maintain the essential fun element needed to provide a good balance. The points earned by the teams during these exercises unlock the potential to take part in the next part of the exercise, and provides the means of escape.

The teams then reunite in "No Man's Land" where a further series of challenges confront the teams, who will be encouraged to work together on various projects regardless of apparent team membership. Again with points earned to secure their escape transport.

The second part of the event takes place in the afternoon; "The Final Escape". It is a reward for the efforts of the teams during the first part of the day's exercise and provides some fairly exotic transport to effect their escape to freedom. At the initial briefing, the teams will not know if they have earned enough points to proceed and, towards the end of the briefing, one team will be convinced that they cannot take part, Nothing could be further from the truth!
