A collection of three different styles of integrated Flying Events, all professionally and safely managed, and with a variety sufficient to suit most tastes and budgets.

Option 1

This is a Flying Event based at a suitable venue of your choice, enabling your party to enjoy a pleasantly relaxed pace to the day and a unique experience from one base.

As authorised operators for off-site Helicopter flight training, as well as operating Hot Air Balloons and Hovercraft, and by obtaining the appropriate C.A.A. licenses; we are able to offer the discerning client this exciting and truly unique hands on flying experience.

The following flying activities are taught to the very highest standards by fully qualified professional instructors, all of whom are extremely experienced with this type of event. They all involve hands-on experience, with the participants actually taking control of the aircraft at various stages. Instruction will be given on a group basis initially which is then followed by one to one instruction continuously throughout the event.

There is a team element to all the activities, especially the Hot Air Balloon and Hovercraft events; but don't worry that some guests may be put off by this, as the degree of teamwork involved is minimal and very informal. However, a little friendly rivalry between the teams always adds a pleasant 'edge' to the proceedings and provides a natural ice breaker which will encourage opportunities for all the delegates to communicate and interact.

HANDS ON HELICOPTER FLYING

Using Robinson R.22 dual control Training Helicopters and professional C.A.A. Pilot Instructors, all participants will be fully briefed on the dynamics of flying these amazing aircraft.

Following the briefing they will all be taken up in the Robinsons, with individual one to one instruction as to the controls and basic techniques of flying - before being allowed to take the controls and actually pilot the aircraft themselves through a series of basic manoeuvres.

Each flight is a proper training flight and covers a surprising area of the Harrogate district, Nidderdale and Wharfedale with fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Any feelings of slight apprehension the participants may experience before flying are quickly abated during the flight and are replaced with a wonderful sense of achievement.

HOT AIR BALLOONING

A full sized, proper, Hot Air Balloon; but an event with a distinct difference.

Effectively the teams become 'crew' to two professional C.A.A. registered Balloon Pilot Instructors who they are seconded to assist and who are taught the entire process of 'rigging up', 'tethering', 'blow inflation' and 'burning' their own balloon for tethered flight. The flight involves ascent and descent, with all techniques individually instructed by a fully qualified A.O.C./C.P.L. pilot instructor.

The teams will have to fully assemble and prepare their own balloon, ready for flight; then securely tether it, fly and land it. Unfortunately, they also have to deflate it, disassemble it and pack it away - ready for the next group! A full and instructional experience from start to finish and very much a team effort.

HOVERCRAFT

Using single seater Hovercraft, the participants will be carefully instructed by our ex World and European Champion F.1 and F.2. Hovercraft racer in the subtle art of controlling these idiosyncratic aircraft.

Not as easy to fly as they may seem; but a hugely amusing experience in the learning, all instruction is carried out on an individual basis prior to having practice flying round the course. This is then followed by a detailed de briefing with further hints on improving the skill and technique of the participants and then yet more practice!

Armed with all this, the teams will be required to test their new found skills as they attempt fastest individual times and then a team Tag Relay around a complicated slalom course in an attempt to clock the fastest time of the day. Excellent fast and furious, if sometimes frustrating, fun!

FINALE

As a Finale to your event (applies to this Option only) the teams will be brought together to take part in an inter team Hovercraft Team Tag Relay as a fun, interactive and memorable conclusion to the event.


Option 2

This is a Flying Event based at a local flying centre or airport, rather than at a venue of your choice, and involves a half or full days hands on flying experience in Helicopters and Fixed Wing Aircraft.

HANDS ON HELICOPTER FLYING

FIXED WING AIRCRAFT FLYING

Using twin seater dual control Cessna or Robin aircraft, with fully qualified CAA Pilot Instructors, your party will actually fly their own aircraft as part of a carefully tailored training lesson.

Starting off in a detailed group briefing, where the dynamics of flying and the aircraft controls will be fully explained, the guests will then be individually taught on a one to one basis how to fly the aircraft through a series of manoeuvres including landing approach procedures.

This is a fully hands on experience and a proper trial lesson over quite an extensive period which takes in some spectacular airiel views of the surrounding area. This is very popular with many clients and an excellent accompaniment to the Helicopter experience.

Option 3

Another Flying Event; but much more tranquil and relatively inexpensive compared with the others. Suitable for smaller numbers.

GLIDING

By kind permission of the Yorkshire Gliding Club, we are able to offer an introductory course in flying gliders from the spectacularly set Airfield at the top of the Sutton Bank. Guests attend a short seminar explaining the basics of glider flying before experiencing hands-on flying with a qualified instructor.

We can organise this event to take place at any Gliding centre in the UK to suit your requirements.
